“Nayi Kahaani”(1943) was directed by D D Kashyap for Prabhat Film Company, Poona. The movie had Rose, Jairaj, Nandrekar, Bannerji, Shalini, Chhotu, Rane, Manji Rao, Ganpat Rao, Karadkar, Pradhan, Thakar, Bhide etc in it.
Five songs from this movie have been discussed in the past. Here is the sixth song from “Nayi kahaani”(1943).Though HFGK is silent about the singer of this song. This song is sung by a female singer and it is picturised on a lady who could be Rose, going by the starcast of the movie. This lady is joined in the singing by another lady, who may be lip syncing in the same or a different voice.
I request our knowledgeable readers to throw light on the identity of the actors as well as the singer(s) of the song.

Atul ji,
As per the interview of Manju appeared in ‘Beete Huye Din’, this song was sung by herself and Leela Mehta.

It seems the musicians used to actually beplaying at the shooting location in this era – just wondering how the whole process of making a film was in those days.

Shekhar ji,
Musicians playing at the shooting locations was happening when there was no Playback singing and the actors had to sing their songs themselves while shooting was in progress. If it was on a set in a closed studio,there was not much problem,but in an open area or in Garden,the orchestra had to be on the spot playing instruments.
Luckily this stopped by 1935 to 1937 period,once the Playback singing became a regular affair.
Since the above song is from 1943,there was no such activity for this song at all.
