“Premnagar”(1940) was produced and directed by Mohan Bhavnani for Bhavnani Productions. The movie had Prof Ramanand, Husn Bano, Bimla Kumari (senior), Rai Mohan, Fanty Prasad, Nagendra, Girish, Salu, Sheel Prabha, Gulzar etc in it.
Nine songs from this movie have been discussed. Here is the tenth song from “Premnagar”(1940).
This song is sung by Fatty Prasad and an unidentified female voice. D N Madhok is the lyricist. Music is composed by Naushad, who was making his debut as an independent music director with this movie.
Seeing that Fatty Prasad acted in this movie. It is clear that this light hearted song was picturised on Fatty Prasad himself. I am not sure about the actress who lip syncs in the female voice. I request our knowledgeable readers to throw light on the identity of the female singer as well as the female lip syncer of this song.
HFGK mentions this song as a two part song, with the second part being described as “ramte jogi se”. The audio link contains both parts.
This song is a rare song which was not available on YT till now.
