Goron pe na mar gore dil ke kaale hote hain

Hullo to all in Atuldom

Recently I made a few discoveries. That without effort some of the artists reach centuries on our blog and we work towards finding unspotted songs of others and these artists are plodding their way towards reaching even their first 1000. For example Indeevar has only 192 out of a total 1875 song penned by him. Similarly Madan Mohan has 471 songs from his 630 among the music directors. Kishore Kumar has only 926 out his 2709 songs here on the blog. And hold your breath there are a whopping 2900 Lata songs (at her last century) and 2466 Rafi songs on the blog. So do we say (in Gabbar style) “bahut be insafi hai yeh” or do we say that we have been partial to these two or is it a case of chalte chalte they just reached these numbers without anyone’s knowledge. Whatever be the case in my own small way let me contribute to rectifying the situation.

Now the regulars on the blog will be wondering why I picked out the stats of Madan Mohan, Indeevar and Kishore Kumar in particular when it is neither any of their birthdays nor death anniversaries and I send my requests/ posts to Atul only on these occasions ;-).

Well I can explain. There are many songs that keep playing in my head on and of. And I thought I should check up if the song which is accompanying this post is here on the blog or not. Going a step forward I just happened to check the stats of the artists of the song. That is how I got to the numbers. And then I decided that I will not wait for any particular occasion to write out the lyrics. So here I am with this song from the late 70s. It is written by Indeevar and Madan Mohan is the music director. The song is from I.S. Johor’s 1978 release “Jalan”. Initially I thought that the movie was produced or directed by I. S. Johar; but it turns out that it was produced by one N.P.Singh and directed by H.A.Rahi and Johar is the main character on whom the story revolves. Believe me I am in the process of seeing this movie on YouTube, it is only an hour 55 minute movie I hope to see through it in a day or two. It is not all that torturous but (leaving rest unsaid) 😉

The movie has Johar playing a businessman who is a skirt chaser and has ditched his PATIVRATA wife Sulochana. His daughter played by real-life daughter Ambika Johar returns from Europe to find her mother abandoned by her father in favour of Bindu and any other pretty –young-thing that is available. Ambika finds that her mother has been sheltered by a large hearted taxi driver Mehmood who tries in his own way to help the mother and daughter to get back with the father. (All this could be gathered from seeing just the initial 20 minutes of the movie.) I am yet to reach this particular song. But we can still enjoy it especially all those who have heard this on the Radio all those years ago. I think this song qualifies to be a Bhoole Bisre Geet from the seventies.

After writing all of the above I finished seeing the movie. Let me tell you that this song jumps out of nowhere. It has no connection to the movement of the movie. It would have made no difference if the song had been chopped off. But if it had been chopped then we would not have had such an entertaining Kishore Kumar number. Also let me add at this juncture that this movie suddenly turn into a murder story with a few baddies (Rajan Haksar, Imtiaz Khan and Manmohan) being killed. In the nick of time Bindu manages to save herself and the killer is revealed to be the PATIVRATA Sulochana. And why did she commit the murders—simple because as a Bharatiya Naari she overheard the baddies plotting her husband’s murder and how could she stand that? 😉 So all ends well and that is the end of this post too.

You kaala aadmi

jeewan bhar sukhi rahegi
gore chhore pe maregi
to life dukhi rahegi
wo roz nayi laayega
aur tujhko tadpaayega
kitni hi bagal mein hongi
tujhe pata na chal paayega
gore chhore bahut si pariyaan paale hote hain
gore chhore bahut si pariyaan paale hote hain
goro pe na mar
gore dil ke
ae kale hote hai
kalo ke dil me pyar ke ujale hote hain
kalo ke dil me pyar ke ujale hote hain
goro pe na mar

gore dil ke

chal baith ja taxi mein
chal ja baith
