Today (25 november 2015) is the birth anniversary of Surinder Kaur (25 november 1929- 15 June 2006), by now immortalised as a legendary singer in Punjabi. She sang in a few Hindi movies as well.

Here is a rare song from “Daada”(1949) which is sung by Surinder Kaur. Lyricist is Rafi Ajmeri, who makes his debut in the blog with this song. Music is composed by Shaukat Dehalvi, who later on earned fame under the name of Naashaad.

Only the audio of this song is available. I request our knowledgeable readers to throw light on the picturisation of this song.

Song-Ae chaand tere saath to rehte hain sitaare (Daada)(1949) Singer-Surinder Kaur, Lyrics-Rafi Ajmeri, MD-Nashaad

Lyrics

ae ae
ae chaand tere saath to rehte hain sitaare ae ae
ae chaand tere saath
main kiske sahaare jiyoon
main kiske sahaare ae
ae chaand tere saath to

kya gham ka fasaana aa
haaye ae ae ae
kya gham ka fasaana
tujhe ae chaand sunaaye
karwat li zamaane ne
chali gham ki hawaayen
maayoos nazar kehti hai ye
karke ishaare ae
ae chaand tere saath to

honthon ki hansi chheen li ee ee
aur tod diye dil
duniya se na dekhe gaye ae
haaye ae
do milte huye dil
wo rooth gaye jeete thhe hum
jinke sahaare ae
aye chaand tere saath to

main kya kahoon hasrat meri barbaad huyi hai
har dil ki tamanna meri ee ee ee
naashaad huyi hai
barbaad tamanna
kaho ab kisko pukaare ae
ae chaand tere saath to rehte hain sitaare ae
ae chaand tere saath to
