“Mehbooba”(1954) was produced and directed by K Amarnath. The movie had Nalini Jaiwant, Shammi Kapoor, Hiralal, Achla Sachdev, Amar, Wazir Mohammad Khan, Ramesh Thakur, Amrit Rana, Gope etc in it.
Five songs from this movie have been discussed in the past. Here is the sixth song from “Mehbooba”(1954) to appear in the blog. This song is sung by Shamshad Begam. Majrooh Sultanpuri is the lyricist. Music is composed by O P Nayyar.
Picturisation shows this song being picturised as a diversion song. Nalini Jaiwant is shown lip syncing this song is a “Hawaalaat” and she manages to lock the “Thaanedaar” up in his own lock up at the end of the song as was usual in such diversion songs in Hindi movies of those days. 🙂
