“Bombay Race Course”(1965) was directed by Kedar Kapoor for PR Films, Bombay. The movie had Nalini Jaywant, Ajeet, K N Singh, Murad, Johnny Walker, Meenu Mumtaz etc in it.
Four songs from this movie have been discussed in the past. Here is the fifth song from “Bombay Race Course”(1965). The song is sung by Mahendra Kapoor and Suman Kalyanpur alongwith male and female chorus. Rajinder Krishan is the lyricist. The music of not only this song but most other songs too sound O P Nayyar like, but music of this movie was actually composed by Madan Mohan !
Only the audio of this song is available. One comment in YT suggests that this song was picturised on Ajit and Nalini Jaiwant, the lead pair of this movie. The song appears to be an archtypical punjabi folk dance song and one guesses that male and female dancers including the lead pair of the movie must have figured in the picturisatin of this song. I request our knowledgeable readers to throw light in the picturisation of this song.
I have not been able to get some words right. Most of these words are punjabi words mostly sung by chorus. I request our readers with keener ears to help fill in the blanks/ suggest correctins wherever applicable in the lyrics of the song.
