The voice of Rafi Sb has played in the back for umpteen actors, all the way from mid 1940s the 1980s. But there are two actors who screen performances have a very special connection with Rafi Sb. Not difficult to guess, I am sure. Yes, Shammi Kapoor is one, and Johnny Walker is the second.
From the mid 1950s to well into the mid 1970s, Johnny Walker was the premier choice for comedy roles in Hindi films. His popularity was such that his presence in the movie meant that there would be at least one song that he would perform on screen. And more often than not, the song was playback in the voice of Rafi Sb. In all his career, Johnny Walker has appeared in over 300 films. Although I do not have specific data off hand, my guess would be that Rafi Sb would have provided playback to Johnny Walker in maybe 150 films or maybe even more. I will try to pull together some numbers soon on this.
Today’s song is from the 1962 film ‘Sachche Moti’. Produced under the banner of Shri Dilip Chitra, Bombay the film is directed by Om Bedi. The songs are written by Sahir Ludhianvi and the music comes from the mind of N Datta. The main cast of actors includes Suresh, Zabeen, Johnny Walker, Shammi, Sulochana, Manmohan Krishan, Helen, Sushil Kumar, Romi, Gopi Krishan, SN Bannerji, Tuntun, Munshi Munakka, Nazir Kashmiri, Dubey etc.
The song tells about the tactics employed by the wives, to get the attention of the husbands, and to get their things done. A fun time pass song, merrily sung by Rafi Sb and equally well performed on screen by Johnny Walker. Enjoy.

There was a film ‘Rajoo’ (1967) with the same banner, director and the same cast. There were 5 songs in this film which were also in ‘Sachche Moti’ (1962). In one of the songs, I find Sushil Kumar witth Jabeen. Then who is Suresh? is he Suresh of ‘Jaadoo’ (1950)?
Looks like ‘Sachche Moti’ (1962) was once again rehashed and released as ‘Rajoo’ (1967).

Yes, as per the comments in Geet Kosh, the film ‘Rajoo’ of 1967 was a repackaged re-release of ‘Sachche Moti’ of 1962. The cast listing of the two films is identical, with minor changes in the listing sequence, and some minor omissions.
The name that I see in these listings is Suresh Puri – so not the same Suresh as the one of ‘Jaadoo’ (1950). And yes, Sushil Kumar is also listed in the cast of actors.

Wow! Just loved this song.. When Rafi saab sang for Johny Walker (or any one for that matter).. he made it seem that the person is singing.. amazing quality.. no wonder most of us consider him GOD! :).
