Original HMV of EMI group, when purchased by the Goenka Group, was called RPG. Later on in 2000, this major music producing company was aptly named as ‘Saregama’. During earlier years, it used to sponsor great artists to produce many non-film music albums. Later-on, under the false pretext of changing music trend, but mainly due to commercial considerations, such publications along with classical music albums ware slowly reduced to very near zero.
‘Swar Bahaar’ – a melodious treat for music lovers was released in 1970. Music Director Shyam Sharma composed ten superb songs of Suman Kalyanpur. The album had two Meera Bhajans and eight ‘bhaavgeets’ penned by Anjaan and Yogesh, six and two respectively.
This pathos-filled song, (of MY liking), describes the mental status of the ‘birhan’, living with some hope and then despair, very superbly written by Yogesh in simple words. Sumanji has poured her heart to render these feelings with superb success.

Just saw your comment.
I entirely agree with your views that most often the video distracts the listener from truly enjoying the sweetness of the song.
Actually, from the build-up created by your excellent write-up and the beautiful lyrics, I was really looking forward to listening to and appreciating this gem, but somehow I couldn’t as my laptop refused to open it. Instead, All the time, I was simply getting the message, “This video is not available.”
Hence the comment.

main samjha nahin aap kya kahete ho. Yeh to sirf Audio hi hai, aap kaunse video ki khoj mein the? Mere hisab se agar kuchh visual gaane ke saath hote to gaane ki majha kam ho jaati. Gaane ka dard ham tak kam pahonchta. Maaf karna yeh meri soch hai.
(Ab jahan soch wahan sauchalay mat kahena !!!)
