“Pehchaan”(1970) was produced and directed by Sohanlal Kanwar. The movie had Manoj Kumar, Babita, Balraj Sahni, Sulochana, Sunder, Sailesh Kumar, Chand Usmani, Tiwari, Asit Sen, Mohan Choti, Daisy Irani, Lata Bose, Madhui Apte, C S Dubey etc in it.
Six songs from this movie have been discussed in the past.
The movie had eight songs in it according to HFGK. But it appears that this final song was one song that was played in two parts in the movie.
Here is the final song from “Pehchaan”(1970) to appear in the blog. This song is sung by Rafi. Neeraj is the lyricist. Music is composed by Shankar Jaikishan. The song is picturised as a background song while picturisation shows human values take backseat while money has the final say on their conduct.
Lyrics of this song were sent to me by Avinash Scrapwala (long long ago).

Myswar.com has also mentioned the same under ‘trivia’ for this song. Only thing I could not understand that, what they mentioned is ‘Manoj Kumar apparently picked Neeraj to play this role on-the-spot …’ , I think he may have suggested for that, as he was not the Producer or Director of this film.

As he wrote the lyrics he might have felt he suited the role to a T (or should we say N?)as he himself looked guant and forlorn.

Yep on Gopaldas Saxena. He was good at reciting his poems but here his lip-syn has gone awry. Others seen>Manoj and Chand Usmani. There is one amma at the fag end. Perhaps PC can help.
