“Paalki” (1967) is a Poonam Pictures presentation. It was directed by Mahesh Kaul and S U Sunny. The movie had Rajendra Kumar,Waheeda Rehman, Rehman, Johnny Walker, Murad, Rashid Khan, Nazir Hussain, Manmohan Krishna, Minoo Mumtaz, Pratima Devi etc in it.

Five songs from this movie have been discussed in the past. Here is the sixth song from this movie to appear in the blog. This song is sung by Lata. Shakeel Badayuni is the lyricist. Music is composed by Naushad.

Only the audio of this song is available. I request our knowledgeable readers to throw light on the picturisation of this song which sounds like an entreaty to the Almighty.

Song-Mushqil mein agar mere maula (Paalki)(1967) Singer-Lata, Lyrics-Shakeel Badayuni, MD-Naushad

musqil mein ager a a
mere maula
ek tera sahaara mil jaaye
badhti hui mauzen
ruk jaayen aen aen
kashti ko kinaara
mil jaaye ae ae ae

dil ki kashti bhanwar mein aayi hai ae ae
kamli vaale teri duhaayi hai ae ae
dil ki kashti bhanwar mein aayi hai

yaa nabi meri ilteza sun le
tu agar sun le to khuda aa sun le
maine tujh hise lau(?) lagaai hai
dil ki kashti bhanwar mein aayi hai

uljhanon mein hai aaj dil mera
kya kahoon khauf hai zamaane ka
chup rahoon main to bewafaai hai ae ae ae
dil ki kashti bhanwar mein aayi hai ae ae
kamli vaale teri duhaayi hai

hai do-raahe pe kaafila dil ka
tujh pe chhoda aa hai faisla dil ka
tere aage jabeen(?) jhukaayi hai ae ae
dil ki kashti bhanwar mein aayi hai ae ae
kamli vaale teri duhaayi hai

I have seen the movie. It is picturised on WR.

jabeen is correct meaning maatha(forehead)
The song is a naat>>The Poetry which written or recited in the praise of Prophet is known as Naat or Naat Sharif or Naat Mubarak or Naat e Pak etc.
