“Muqabala”(1942) was directed by atuk Bhatt and Babubhai Mistry for Wadia Movietone, Bombay. The movie had Nadia, Yakoob, agha, Dalpat, Rajni, Nazeera, Baby Madhuri, Jal Khambata, Khan Mastana, Azim etc in it.
It is clear from the starcast that the movie was an archtypical stunt movie of Nadia. Nadia would perform stunts in the movie whereas the customary song and dance would be performed by others. In later decades, Sheikh Mukhtar would take a leaf out of Nadia’s book in his home production movie where he would indulge in stronarm tactics, leaving the customary singing and dancing for other actors. 🙂
One song from the movie has been discussed in the past. Here is the second song from the movie. This song is sung by Rajni and it is picturised on her as well. A Karim is the lyricist. Music is composed by Khan Mastana.
