“Giribaala”(1947) was produced and directed by Madhu Bose for Madhu Bose Productions, Calcutta. The movie had Indrani Devi, Dheeraj, Ahindra Cahudhary, Hrishikesh, Chitralekha, Rajlaxmi, Kamta Prasad, B R Tandon, Poornima, Vitthal, Das Panchotia, Abani Mitra, Tulsi Chakraborty etc in it.
This obscure movie had twelve songs in it according to HFGK and hardly any details are available on HFGK about these songs. Even the songs of this movie are not available easily.
Here is the first song from “Giribaala”(1947) to appear in the blog. Names of singers and lyricist of this song are not available on HFGK. Comments on the YT link of this song suggest that the song is sung by Hemant Kumar and Kalyani Das (later Mitra after marrying Jagmohan Sursagar) and that Pt Madhur in the lyricist.
Music is composed by Kamal Dasgupta.
