ZAMEENDAAR (1942) was produced by Dalsukh Pancholi and directed by Moti B Gidwani for Pancholi Art Pictures, Lahore. The movie had Shanta Apte, S D Narang, Manorama, Ghulam Mohammed, M Ismail, Baby Akhtar, Durga Mota, M Azmal, Khairaati, G N Butt etc. in it.
The movie had ten songs in it. As many as nine songs from this movie have been discussed in the past.
When I discussed the ninth song from the movie a few weeks ago, I searched hard for the final song from the movie but I could not locate it. This song was arare song indeed and even the details about its singers were not available in HFGK.
So, it was like a gift from heaven when I received an email from Mr Sadanand Kamath a few hours ago where he had mentioned that he had uploaded a few rare songs not yet there on YT till then. And that included the elusive tenth and final song from “Zameendaar”(1942) !
So, here is this fantastic tenth and final song from “Zameendaar”(1942). Listening to the song, one can notice that it is sung by Shamshad Begam and Ghulam Haider. So this fills in the detail that was missin in HFGK.
Nazim Panipati is the lyricist. Music is composed by Ghulam Haider.
Only the audio of this song appears to be available. I request our knowledgeable readers to throw light on the picturisation of this delightful song.
I have not been able to get a few words right in the lyrics of the song. I request our readers with keener ears to help fill in the gaps/ suggest corrections in the lyrics as applicable.
With this song, “Zameendaar”(1942) joins the list of movies that have all their songs covered in the blog.
