“Dhoom Dhaam”(1949) was directed by Rajaram for Shama Productions, Bombay. This obscure movie had agha, Baburao, Leela Kumari, Urvashi, Girdhari, Vasantrao etc in it.
The movie had eight songs in it.
Here is the first song from “Dhoom Dhaam”(1949) to appear in the blog. The song is sung by Rajkumari. Aziz Kashmiri is the lyricist. Music is composed by Soofi Samaj. I wonder if “Soofi Samaj” is a name or it basically means traditional Soofi music. I request our knowledgeable readers to throw light on this matter.
Only the audio of this song is available, so it is difficult to say how and on whom this song was picturised. In fact, even the voice of the singer does not sound like Rajkumari to me, but I have decided to go by the entry of HFGK, and by assuming that it is the audio quality that is causing difficulty in indentifying the voice.
With this song, “Dhoom Dhaam”(1949) makes its debut in the blog.

There is one more song available on YT. Some of the songs are penned by Karan Dewan, actor and singer> Hope I am right.
Never heard about Soofi Samaj>strange names for a duo!

I remember record collector Girdharilal ji telling me that Soofi Samaj were a composer duo. I think I’ve written the names somewhere.
(Will update here if I find them).
Dhoom Dhaam has some lovely songs. Surprising that this is the first song being posted
