Lata’s Songs NOT YET covered on our Blog – 14
—————————————————
After that beautiful duet by Lata and Durrani from 1948 film Heer Ranjha, the next Lata’s Song NOT YET covered on our Blog is a song from 1948 film ‘Mandir’. I have tried to get that song from all the sources that I know of, and I am now not very much hopeful to get it. The next song in the line is from the 1948 Film ‘Majboor’.
The film according to HFGK had eight songs, one a Geeta solo and the rest seven were either solos or duets by Lata-ji. Lata had four solos two duets with Geeta and a duet with Mukesh. Three songs have already been covered on our musical Blog and this will be the fourth one.
Majboor, a social film, was produced by Bombay talkies and directed by Nazir Ajmeri. The star-cast included Munavvar Sultana and Shyam, supported by Indu, Sohan Lal, Jagannath, Dar Kashmiri, Ganju, Shama Gulnar, Ameer Bano, Shivraj, Ram Shashtri, Lakshman Rao, Manto Bai etc. Ghulam Haider set the lilting music to the lyrics by Nazim Panipati.
Music of this film became very popular in my small town, the songs from the film ware played almost continuously by Hoteliers in the Bazar of that town. As I was in High School during that period, I used to find excuse to go to Bazar to listen to those lilting songs. In fact, Majboor was the film that made Lata’s voice popular and people were inquisitive about this new voice, asking Radio Stations for the name.
The song presented is a duet of Lata and Geeta. Having not seen the film I presume from the wordings, that it must have been picturised on the heroine and a friend teasing her.

Lyrics
ha ha ha ha
chh chh
chh chh
chh chh
ha ha ha ha ho ho ho ho
har shai pe jawaani hai
har shai pe jawaani hai
haaye mere honthon pe
honthon pe saajan ki kahaani hai
haaye saajan ki kahaani hai
ho ooo
gori
chh chh
badnaam naah o jaana
chh chh
badnaam nah o jaana
gali gali goonje na
goonje na
tere pyaar ka afsaana
haaye tere pyaar ka afsaana
ho ooo
more saajan aan milenge
aa ha ha ha
aa ha
o ho ho ho
o ho
o ooo
more saajan aan milenge
manva ki bagiyaa mein phool khilenge
manva ki bagiyaa mein phool khilenge
in phoolon ko khilne do
do dil milte hain
haaye sajni
do dilon ko milne do
haaye do dilon ko milne do
meri bagiyaa mein phool khile
meri bagiyaa mein phool khile
duniya ko bhool gayi
bhool gayi
jab nain se nain miley
haaye jab nain se nain miley
o ooo
pyaar bura hai
pyaar na karna
na na na na
na na
na na na na
na na
ho ooo
pyaar bura hai
pyaar na karna
ankhiyaan kisi se chaar na karna
ankhiyaan kisi se chaar na karna
jise preet ka rog lage
din ko woh aahen bhare
aahen bhare aur saari raat jage
haaye aur saari raat jage
har shai pe jawaani hai
haaye mere honthon pe
honthon pe saajan ki kahaani hai
haaye saajan ki kahaani hai
