“Shrimatiji”(1952) was directed by I S Johar for Filmistan, Bombay. The movie had Shyama, Nasir Khan, Ram Singh, Murad, Samson, Vimla, Indira, Prabha, Baldev Mehta, Ram Avtar, Yashwant, Mirazkar, Agha Miraz, Majnu, Johar etc in it.
There were ten songs in the movie. Eight of these songs have been covered in the blog.
Here is the ninth song from “Shrimatiji”(1952) to appear in the blog. This song is sung by Geeta Dutt. Hasrat Jaipuri is the lyricist. Music is composed by Jimmy aka James Singh.
The song is picturised as a get together song where Shyama is seen seated on a grand piano and lip syncing this song.
After this song, only one more song is left from this movie. This remaining song-“kabhi hamaare ghar bhi aao” sung by Shamshad Begam and chorus does not seem to be available. So unless this song becomes available, “Shrimatiji”(1952) may remain one song short of getting YIPPEED.
