“Baadshah” (1964) was directed by Chandrakant Gaud for Navkala Niketan, Bombay. the movie had Dara Singh, Nishi, Tiwari, Kumari Rani, Keshav, Raja Haksar, Radheshyam, Kumud Tripathi, Uma Khosla, Mumtaz Begam, Rafiq Sultana, Sheila Devi, Shamina, Shanta Hiranandani etc in it.
The movie had six songs in it. Four songs have been discussed in the blog in the past.
Here is the fifth song from “Baadshah”(1964) to appear in the blog. this song is sung by Asha Bhonsle. Anand Bakshi is the lyricist. Music is composed by N Datta.
The song is lip synced by Nishi (I hope I have identified the lady correctly) who sings this dukhiyaari naari song (aka remonstrating with the Almighty song) in a raj darbaar while Dara Singh is shown being dragged away (dragged by three elephants, no less).
I have not been able to get a few words right in the lyrics. I request our readers with keener ears to help fill in the blanks/ suggest corrections in the lyrics as applicable.

Song-Rahenge kab talak khaamosh ham (Baadshah)(1964) Singer-Asha Bhonsle, Lyrics-Anand Bakshi, MD-N Datta
Lyrics
rahenge kab talak khaamosh ham ae aasmaan waale
kahenge aaj kuchh tujhse ki
ham bhi hain juda aa waale
mere toote dil ne tujhe hai pukaara
nahin teri duniya mein apna gujaara
nahin teri duniya mein apna gujaara
mere toote dil ne tujhe hai pukaara
nahin teri duniya mein apna gujaara
nahin teri duniya mein apna gujaara
laut aayi falak se duaayen
chal padi hain sitam ki hawaayen
sabki kashti ke aila(?) khuda sun
aisa na ho ki ham doob jaayen
sabki kashti ke aila(?) khuda sun
aisa na ho ki ham doob jaayen
hain toofaan hazaaron nahin hain kinaara
nahin teri duniya mein apna gujaara
nahin teri duniya mein apna gujaara
koi be-aasra ho gaya hai
ye khudaai ko kya ho gaya hai
tere hote huye is jahaan mein
ek sitamgar khuda ho gaya hai
tere hote huye is jahaan mein
ek sitamgar khuda ho gaya hai
ye aansoo nahin hain
lahu hai hamaara
nahin teri duniya mein apna gujaara
nahin teri duniya mein apna gujaara
tujhko kasam meri jaan ki
tujhko kasam teri shaan ki
kehde zara in hawaaon se
barsa de shole ghataaon se
parvat jagah apni chhod de
saagar kinaaron ko tod de
shaamat na aaye imaan par
bijli gira de jahaan par
varna ye anjaam hoga
maalik tu badnaam hoga
maalik tu badnaam hoga
kahega ye tujhse zamaana ye saara
nahin teri duniya mein apna gujaara
nahin teri duniya mein apna gujaara
mere toote dil ne tujhe hain pukaara
nahin teri duniya mein apna gujaara
nahin teri duniya mein apna gujaara

Cute picturisation. Suddenly the movie changed from black and white to colour and now sepia. And after the song a whole lot of wrestling… Suddenly Dara Singh looked fat now fit again. All in the same sequence of song and fight post the song… wonderful…;-)
