‘The Killers’ (1969) with its alternative title ‘Ham Sab Qaatil Hain’ (1969) was produced by A V Mohan under the banner of Sangam Pictures and was directed by Maruti. The cast included Dara Singh, Ajit, Sheikh Mukhtar, Helen, Paul Sharma, Amar, Kundan, Bela Bose, S K Prem, Leela Chitnis, Maruti etc.
The surprise element in the film was the unusual role of Dara Singh as a secret agent, something like the role of Jeetendra in ‘Farz’ (1967). Probably, the success of ‘Farz’ (1967) may have inspired director, Maruti to develop the character of Dara Singh on that line. For the first time, I have watched Dara Singh in immaculate western attire and dancing with girls. But he is no ‘jumping jack’ like Jeetendra. Ajit had a double role in this film.

Today, April 11, 2026, is the 86th birthday of Ameeta, who regaled the Hindi film audience through her films of 1950s and 1960s, both in leading as well as in side roles. She came into prominence with box office successful films, ‘Tumsa Naheen Dekha’ (1957) and ‘Goonj Uthi Shehnai’ (1959) in leading roles and in ‘Mere Mehboob’ (1963) in a side role. But luck was not in her favour and despite the initial success with her good acting prowess, she could not achieve stardom.

‘Trip To Moon/Chaand Par Chadhaaee’ (1967) was produced and directed by T P Sundaram under the banner of Cauvery Productions (Madras). The cast included Dara Singh, G Ratna, Master Bhagwan, Anwar Hussain, Padma Khanna, Kanchanmala, Helen, S Nazir, Rajrani, Saudagar Singh, Trilok Singh, Suryavir Singh, Hardeet Singh etc. The film belongs to the genre of the science fiction coupled with stunts and actions. This was the only Hindi film of the lead actress, G Ratna (also written as G Rathna) who has acted in Telugu, Tamil and Kannada films during 1960-80. Master Bhagwan had a double role in the film – both as sidekicks of the lead actor, Dara Singh and the villain, Anwar Hussain.
