“Imtihaan”(1974) was directed by Madan Sinha for New Arts Pictures, Bombay. This movie had Tanuja, Vinod Khanna, Bindu, Ranjeet (special appearance), Abhi Bhattacharya, Asit Sen, Sapru, Murad, C S Dubey, Abhijit Sen, Shashtri, Amrit Patel, Sunayna Santosh, Uday Arora, Neel Oberoy, Sonika Khanna, Dewal Verma, Naveen Pandya, Vijay Kumar, Bhanwar Shrivastava, Ibrahim, Seema, Madhu, Jugnu, Durga, Ravi Kanwar, Sunil Rege, Ibrahim Khan, Geeta Shah, Shankar Bhake, Nasir, Farooque, Chanda, Kamal etc in it.
This movie had four songs in it. Three songs from the movie have been covered in the past.
Here is the fourth and final song from “Imtihaan”(1974) to appear in the blog. This song is sung by Asha Bhonsle. Majrooh Sultanpuri is the lyricist. Music is composed by Laxmikant Pyarelal.
The song is picturised as a “disco” party song where lots of people are present and this song is being lip synced by Bindu.
“Disco” music came into Hindi movies in late 1970s. But as can be seen, we had this “disco” song in Hindi movies as early as in 1974 itself !
With this song, “Imtihaan”(1974) joins the list of movies that have all their songs covered in the blog.
