“Shagun” (1951), also mentioned as “Shagan” in some sites, was directed by S Arora for Punjab Art Productions. This obscure movie had Sulochana Chatterji, Kamal Kapoor, Bhudo Advani, Ranjit Kumari, Wasti etc in it.
There were nine songs in this movie. One song has been covered in the blog.
Here is the second song from “Shagun” (1951) to appear in the blog. This song is sung by Lata. Mulkraj Bhakri is the lyricist. Music is composed by Husnlal Bhagatram.
Only the audio of this song is available. I request our knowledgeable readers to throw light on the pivcturisation of this song. People can notice that the tune of this song is same as that of the superhit song Chup chup khade ho zaroor koyi baat hai(Badi Bahan). So Husnlal Bhagatram, instead of creating new tune, were reusing the same popular tune repeatedly in their songs which ultimately proved their undoing.
