“Pratima”(1945) was directed by P Jairaj for Bombay Talkies, Bombay. The movie had Swarnlata, Dilip Kumar, Jyoti, Mumtaz Ali, Pithawala, Mukri, Zebunnissa, Shahnawaz etc in it.

This movie had seven songs in it. Two songs from the movie has been covered in the blog.

Here is the third song from “Pratima”(1945) to appear in the blog. This song is sung by Parul Ghosh. Pt Narendra Sharma is the lyricist. Music is composed by Arun Kumar Mukherji.

Only the audio of this song is available. It is almost certain that this joie de vivre romantic song was picturised on Swarnlata.

The lyrics uses words that are quite poetic (in the sense of Hindi poetry) and quite a few words in the lyrics are uncommon for standard HFM songs. I have not been able to get a few words right. I request our readers with better ears to help fill in the blanks/ suggest corrections as applicable.
