Lyrics
boot palish karwa le baabu
boot palish karwa le ae ae
boot palish karwa le ae ae
boot palish karwa le baabu
boot palish karwa le ae ae
boot palish karwa le
o jaane waale dekh zara
koi dar dar tujhe pukaare
o jaane waale dekh zara
koi dar dar tujhe pukaare
boot palish karawa le
boot palish karawa le baabu
boot palish karawa le ae ae
boot palish karawa le
jyun jyun chamke boot tumhaare
qismat meri jaage
qismat meri jaage ae ae
jyun-jyun chamke boot tumhaare
qismat meri jaage ae
tere booton ke tasme hain
mere jiwan dhaage
daulatwaale hote hain mazdooron ke rakhwaale
daulatwaale hote hain mazdooron ke rakhwaale
boot palish karwa le
boot palish karwa le baabu
boot palish karwa le ae ae
boot palish karwa le
aasha ke do aansu
aankhon mein hi peene de
aasha ke do aansu
aankhon mein hi peene de
laakh duaayein denge tujhko
maskeenon ko jeene de
laakh duaayein denge tujhko
maskeenon ko jeene de
ham bhi tere desh ke hain o daata rahne waale
ham bhi tere desh ke hain o daata rahne waale
boot palish karwa le
boot palish karwa le baabu
boot palish karwa le ae ae
boot palish karwa le

Atul ji,
Lyrics are updated and also Hindi lyrics added.
The most striking thing about this clip is the picturization. In the film, Jeevan is the elder brother of the young boy (Suleiman) who is lip syncing this song. Throughout the song, Jeevan’s face covers the entire background, as the young boy sings, and begs, and polishes shoes in the foreground. Conceptually, a most fantastic shot.
This would have been a very difficult shot. Throughout the song, it is remarkable to see the continuously but slowly changing expressions on Jeevan’s face. To silently express his anguish, through facial expressions, for a period of two and a half minutes – as the song continues. There would have been no visual context while the shot would have been taken; he would have had just the audio playing to evoke and express the feelings. Note that the expressions are not wooden; they are very much alive and convey the pain in his mind as he watches his younger brother begging on the streets.
A most remarkable performance, and a most remarkable shot.
