“Raees”(1948) was directed by Qaisar Sabai for Ballet Pictures, Bombay. This obscure “social” movie had Shanta Kunwar, Jawahar Kaul, M Beg, Urvashi, Balraj, Munshi Munaqqa, Malika, F Shah, Kabli, Usha Rani etc in it.
This forgotten movie had seven obscure songs in it. Two songs from this movie was covered in the blog in the past.
Here is the third song from “Raees”(1948) to appear in the blog. This song is sung by Meena Kapoor and Krishan Goel. Qaisar Sabai is the lyricist. Music is composed by Manohar Arora.
Only the audio of this song is available. I request our knowledgeable readers to throw light on the movie as well as on the picturisation of this song.
I have not been able to get the lyrics right at a few places. I request our readers with keener ears to help fill in the blanks/ suggest corrections as applicable.
The fact that this song has the voice of Krishan Goel in it and songs sung by him are so difficult to come by, testifies to the fact that this song is an extremely rare song.
