“Raat Ke Andhere Mein”(1967) was directed by Devraj for Ashok Films, Bombay. The movie had Dev Kumar, Sonia Sahni, Sahida, Dev Dutt, Bhagwan, Mohan Choti, Murad, Rajan Haksar etc in it.
HFGK lists six songs for the movie and leaves blanks indicating that the movie had other songs as well but their details are not known. Interestingly enough, the videos of the songs of the movie are available online, which suggests that the video of the movie is available as well. So I went through the whole movie, fast forwarding liberally and pausing only to check the songs. I came to the conclusion that the movie contains the same six songs as mentioned in HFGK. There are no additional songs. So the list of songs in HFGK for this movie is complete.
Four songs from the movie have been covered in the past.
Here is the fifth song from “Raat Ke Andhere Mein”(1967) to appear in the blog. This song is the title song of the movie, which is picturised as a club song cum villain’s den song. The song is sung by Asha Bhonsle. Prem Dhawan is the lyricist as well as music director.
I am unable to identify the lady lip syncing the song. I request our knowledgeable readers to help identify her and others in the picturisation.
