Today’s movie from the list of missing movies of 1972 on the blog is ‘Ustaad Meraa Naam’.
‘Ustaad Meraa Naam’ was a stunt movie. I had never heard the name of this movie or its’ songs earlier and it is only because of HFGK Vol-V (1971-1980) that I got to know about this movie and its songs. This movie seems to be an obscure movie as none of its video is available on internet. Luckily the songs are available in the form of audios only.
‘Ustaad Meraa Naam’ was directed by Saraswati Kumar for Ravi International (Ravi Chitra Films), Madras. It was passed by Censor Board on 26.05.1972. The star cast for the film is listed as Krishna, Jyotilaxmi, Raja Sulochana, Satyanarayan, Prabhakar Reddy, Tyagraj, Azad, Pahalwan and others.
I think this must be a dubbed movie from a movie from south and could be an obscure movie of its time.
This movie had four songs written by Prem Dhawan and composed to music by Satyam. All the four songs are solo songs sung by Asha Bhonsle only. Following is the list of songs as given in HFGK Vol-V (1971-1980).
