Today’s song is from the movie ‘Gawaah-1979’ which is making its debut on the blog with this song.
Though a recent movie by the standards of this blog this seems to be an obscure movie of its time. None of its video is available on the internet and so far audio is also available for one song only.
I do not remember to have heard or read about this movie in the past. It is only through HFGK that I become aware of this movie from the ‘seventies’.
“Gawaah-1979” was directed by A. Salaam for ‘New Era Movies’.
It had Samit, Roohi, Ajit, Bobby, Veena, Meena T., Sujit Kumar (in friendly appearance), Madan Puri, Heeralal, Bela Bose, Asit Sen, Kamal Kapoor, Satyen Kappu, Kundan, Habib, Mukri, Bhagwan, Sundar, Mohan Choti, Johny Whisky, Dilip Dutt, Rajan Haksar, Mirza Musharraf, Babli, Rajani Bala, Sardar Mouji Singh, Hashmat and others.
This movie was passed by Censor Board on 29.09.1979.
“Gawaah-1979” has three songs written by Hasrat Jaipuri(two songs) and Tabish Sultanpuri (one song).
Music for this movie was composed by Jay Kumar Parte.
