“Bansari”(1943), a “social” movie, was directed by Jayant Desai for Ranjit Movietone, Bombay. This by now forgotten movie had Ishwarlal, Charlie, Shamim, Dixit, Urmila, Bhagwan Das, Keshri etc in it.
According to HFGK, this movie had nine songs in it. Name of singer(s) are known for seven songs. There were two lyricists in the movie, viz D N Madhok and Pt Indra Chandra. Lyricist is known only for two songs.
The songs of this movie are extremely rare songs. One song has been covered so far.
Here is the second song from the movie to appear in the blog. The song is sung by Ameerbai Karnataki. Lyricist is not known. Music is composed by Gyan Dutt.
Only audio of the song is available. I request our knowledgeable readers to throw light on the movie as well as on the picturisation of the song.
I have not been able to note down the lyrics of the song to my satisfaction. I feel that the song should have the words “aahon” and “aahen”, but sometimes I hear “aankhon” and “aankhen” instead. I request our readers with keener ears to help provide the correct words in the lyrics wherever applicable.
