“Ghar Ki Izzat”(1948) was produced and directed by Ram Daryani for Murli Movietone, Bombay. This “social” movie had Mumtaz Shanti, Dilip Kumar, Manorama, Jeevan, Dixit, Suleman,Gulab, Gope etc in it.
HFGK mentions 11 songs in it. We have found one song (sung by Ameerbai Karnataki) which does not find mention in HFGK. That way the movie has not 11 but 12 songs in it. Nine of these songs have been covered in the blog.
Here is the tenth song from “Ghar Ki Izzat”(1948) to appear in the blog. This song is sung by Shamshad Begam. Ishwar Chand Kapoor is the lyricist. Music is composed by Pt Govindram.
This song is picturised on Mumtaz Shanti as a “remonstrating with the Almighty” genre of song.

Saw this movie around same time- last year. Nothing great as far as story goes.
But fell in love with Jeevan’s acting which was neither comic nor villain nor Narad (for which he was famous). His was a typical loving brother – of- the- heroine character.
For that matter, even Manorama was so adorable as the loving hero’s sister
