Today, the 12th of July is the 70th birthday of Sulakshana Pandit, one of the most underrated and unlucky actor/playback singer of the 1970s and 1980s. I have discussed her brief bio in one of my earlier posts here.

Today’s song is a duet by Mohd. Rafi & Sulakshana Pandit. This song “Bheegi Bheegi Waadi Mein” is penned by Aish Kanwal and is composed by Mandheer-Jatin. This pair of Mohd. Rafi and Sulakshana Pandit have given us many beautiful songs such as “Jab Aati Hogi Yaad Meri”, “Ghadi Milan Ki Aayi”, “Pardesiya Tere Des Mein”, “Jiske Liye Sab Ko Chhoda”, etc
“Dil Hi Dil Mein” was released in 1981 and it was directed by Desh Gautam for producer Sayyed Hafeez Bhopali. The movie starred Vinod Mehra and Sulakshana Pandit in the lead, ably supported by Sarika, Navin Nischol, Iftekhar, Dr. Shreeram Lagoo, Shakti Kapoor, Raza Murad, Shivraj, Madhu Malini, etc.
