“Chandralekha”(1948) was a costume drama which was directed by S S Wasan for Gemini Pictures, Madras. This blockbuster movie had T R Rajkumari, M K Radha, Ranjan, Sundari Bai, Yashodhara Katju, L Narayan Rao, Subbaiah Pillai, V H Janaki, H Krishnmurthy, B S Kalla, A K Chopra, Sundar Rao, Varalaxmi etc in it.
“Chandralekha”(1948) had eleven songs in it that werte composed by S Rajeshwar Rao, assisted by Balkrishna Kalla, R Vaidhyanathan and M D Parthasarathi. This movie, originally made in Tamil was remade in Hindi. The actors remained almost same, but the lyricists were signed up from Hindi movies, viz Pt Indra and Bharat Vyas.
