Today’s Kavi Pradeep song is from the movie ‘Dashehraa-1956’. This song is the fourth song from this movie to be covered on the blog.
‘Dashehraa-1956’ was directed by Chaturbhuj Doshi for ‘Navkala Niketan, Bombay’. Ramesh Vyas was the producer of this movie. This movie was passed by the censor board on 25.02.1956. The cast of this movie included Shahu Modak, Nirupa Roy, Roop Kumar, Gope, Gajanan Jagirdar, S.N. Tripathi, Surendra, Yashodhara Katju, Kumkum, Jagdish Kanwal, Kamal, Heera Sawant, Rooplakshami, Suryakant, Narbada Shankar, Mohan Choti, Madhav Kale, Bela Sorkar, Jaya Rao, Tiwari and others. Rajan Haksar, Manorama, and Ramesh Thakur had made guest appearances in this movie.
“Dashehraa” has eleven songs in it. Kavi Pradeep penned 10 songs and Saraswati Kumar Deepak penned one song. Music for this ‘mythological/devotional’ genre of movies was composed by N. Datta. The playback singers for this movie were Mohd Rafi, Lata Mangeshkar, Kavi Pradeep, Shamshad Begam and Asha Bhonsle. Lata Mangeshkar, Kavi Pradeep, and Shamshad Begam had one solo song each in this movie. Mohd Rafi’s voice was used in three songs and Asha Bhonsle sung five songs in this movie.
Today’s song is sung by Mohd Rafi and it is a nice typically Kavi Pradeep lyrics advicing devotees to have faith on the Almighty when faced with adversity.
