“Maaya Nagri”(1957) was produced by Rijhumal Sevaram and directed by A M Khan for Sharda Productions, Bombay. This “Kalpnik” film had Shakila, Mahipal, Murad, KrishnaKumari, Amarnath, Mohini, Jagdish Kanwal, Kesri, Mirajkar, Ramlal, Ansari, M Rajesh, Chandabai, Shahgul, Maha Gul, Anis Shirazi, Sheila Vaz, Kanchanmala etc in it.
“Maaya Nagri”(1957) had nine songs in it that had the voices of Geeta Dutt, Shamshad Begam, Suman Kalyanpur, Sabita Bannerjee and Manna Dey in them. These songs were penned by five lyricists viz. Dukhi Amritsari, Naqsh Llayalpuri, Khalish Lucknowi, Bekas Muradabadi and Anjaan.
Here is the first song from the movie to appear in the blog. This song is sung by Shamshad Begam. Bekas Muradabadi is the lyricist. Music is composed by B N Bali.
Only audio of the song is avilable. It appears to be a dance song picturised on a designated dancer in the film. I request our knowledgeable readers to throw light on this movie as well as on the picturisation of this song.
