“Bhoola Bhatka”(1975) was directed by Ashwani Kumar for Angel Movies, Bombay. This “social” movie had Kiran Kumar, Usha Solanki, Akashdeep, Aruna Irani, Sanjana, Kanhaiyalal, Bhagwan, Paro, Mridula, Jankidas, Jagdish Raj, Dharamveer, Moolchand, Baby Seema, Master Paras, Surekha Naik, Madhu, Bhushan, Imtiaz Usmani, Munna, Babu, Vijay, Anwar, Fatima, Anuradha, Fazlu, Saroj, Rita, Raheem etc in it.
I have no recollections of this movie during its release but I clearly recall Film magazines of early 1970s mentioning that a new face called Usha Solanki was getting launched. The movie called “Premika” with which she was getting launched got delayed and delayed for years (mainly because of financial problems I guess) and was released in 1977. When her film finally got released it was too late for her by that time.
“Premika”(1977) has been introduced in the blog a few days ago. I notice that this movie “Bhoola Bhatka”(1975)featuring her had got released before “Premika”(1977). Not that it helped her career much. This movie “Bhoola Bhatka”(1975) must have been one of the most forgettable movies of its time because I was neither aware of this movie nor its songs during 1975.
“Bhoola Bhatka”(1975) had four songs in it. HFGK does not mention names of singers against their songs. But at the bottom, HFGK mentions that the playback in this movie was given by Lata, Kishore, Asah and Aziz Nazaan. On going through the songs, one finds that each song in the movie is a solo song.
Here is the first song from “Bhoola Bhatka”(1975) to appear in the blog. This song is sung by Kishore Kumar and chorus. Anand Bakshi is the lyricist. Music is composed by Kalyanji Anandji.
The picturisation shows that it is a bus song. College students are going for a picnic in a bus. Kiran Kumar and Usha Solanki are among the picnicers. True to Hindi movie tradition, Kiran Kumar starts teasing Usha Solanki. It goes without saying that teasing song used to be a standard song in a Hindi movie no matter what its genre or story line was. For that matter, every Hindi movie, irrespective of its subject matter would have its lead actors behaving in exactly the same manner. Teasing will take place between the lead actors no matter what profession the lead actors were supposed to follow in the movie. Since they are students in the movie, so it goes without saying that they spend their time singing songs, teasing/ getting teased etc rather than studying.
With this song, “Bhoola Bhatka”(1975) makes its debut in the blog.
