Today’s saawan song is from the movie “Ghamand-1955”. What a wonderful ‘saawan composition this is. The composition soaked in the delight of saawan is by Gulshan Soofi, while the verses swinging in the spirit of saawan are by Naqsh Lyallpuri. Asha Bhonsle’s singing will take you far away from the world to the world of saawan.
“Ghamand-1955” was directed by Deepak Asha for Kirtan Pictures, Bombay. It was produced by Rijhumal Sewaram. It had Shyama, Sheela Ramani, Rajkumar, Kamal Mehra, Ramlal, Seeta Bose, Mohini, Manjeet Kumari, Shakeel, Thakur, Ishwar, Bajaj, Jaani, Murad and others. This movie was passed by Censor Board on 15.01.1955.
“Ghamand-1955” has ten songs which were shared by five lyricist viz. Naqsh (Lyallpuri?), Uddhav Kumar, Kaif, Naazi, P. Ziya. Music for this movie was composed by Gulshan Soofi. This movie seems to be an obscure movie of its time, as no video for the movie or its songs seems to be available on internet.
