Nowadays I am presenting saawan songs from Hindi films that were so far missing from the blog. In this process I am coming across surprises on a daily basis. I am discovering some great compositions.
Everybody has his/her own preferences in music. As for me, I mostly enjoy those creations that I had not listened to earlier.
While looking for songs thst I had never heard before, I got to listen to these songs and I noted them down to be used for my write-ups. That is how I got to listen to these songs, by specifically searching for them, something that most normal music lovers are not likely to do.
Today I am bringing one more such composition which gave me enormous joy while listening to it. This is from the movie ‘Maa Baap-1960’. I am surprised, that it was not posted here till now.
This movie ‘Maa Baap-1960’ was directed by V.M. Vyas for ‘Ratnadeep Pictures, Bombay’. It was produced by Trikambhai Dave. It had Rajendra Kumar, Kamini Kadam, Peace Kanwal, Pran, Anwar, Kumar, Naaz, Bipin Gupta, Kuldeep Kaur, Sundar, Kusum, Romi, Leela Mishra, Baby Shobha, Keshav, Pratap Bhansali, Roop Kumar, Dinanath, Tribhuvan Sinha, Madan Sahgal, Leela Chitnis and others. This movie was passed by the censor board on 19.02.1960.
‘Maa Baap-1960’ has eight songs in it which were all penned by lyricist Rajinder Krishan. Music for this movie is composed by Chitragupt who has given us many memorable and timeless classic songs. Singers for this movie are Geeta Dutt, Usha Mangeshkar, Mohd Rafi, and Lata Mangeshkar. So far, three songs from this movie have been posted on the blog. Today I am presenting the fourth song from this movie on the blog.
Today’s song is sung by Lata Mangeshkar. The song is picturised on Kamini Kadam (I guess)with many female artistes. Rajendra Kumar in a state of distress is also visible in the picturisation.

Saawan is in progress in the northern parts of India for nearly a month, and for nearly a fortnight in other parts of the country. Nothing stops us from enjoying each day of saawan as if it is the first day of saawan. That is what this , which song is about -‘ye pehlee ghataa saawan kee’
