I have been presenting songs penned by Kavi Pradeep which are yet to be posted here on this blog. We are all aware that Kavi Pradeep mostly wrote songs for movies from ‘mythological genres’. In such movies there are songs related to ‘mythological stories’ and ‘incidents’ which Kavi Pradeep brought to us in lyrics form with nuances such that one can easily visualize the incident happening in front of him/her. Picturisation of such songs is also a treat to watch. Readers might be remembering the recent song about ‘Krishna-Sudama meet’ which was posted here on the ‘world friendship day’. This song is a wonderful song both in terms of lyrics and picturisation.
Today, Janmashtami– the birth festival of Lord Krishna, is being celebrated all over the country. On this occasion I am presenting a song which is about the baal leelaa(s)’ of Lord Krishna. This song is sung by Usha Mangeshkar and chorus and the picturisation of this song has several child artistes and female artistes performing on it. The location of this song and the visuals around are lovely and they help in bringing to us the childhood innocence, playfulness and fun that the friends of Krishn and the Gopees are having.
This movie ‘Krishna Sudaamaa-1979’ was directed by Kedar Nath Agrawal for Sangeeta Productions, Bombay. This mythological movie was passed by Censor Board on 07.08.1979. This same movie was again released with addition of a few more songs under the title of ‘Krishna Bhakt Sudaamaa’, passed by the Censor Board on 26.11.1980. The older version of this movie has eight songs whereas the new version has eleven songs.
The cast of this movie ‘Krishna Sudaamaa-1979’ has Bharat Bhooshan, Bani Kumar, Master Rajesh, Master Sushobhan, Master Ravi, Amar Nath, Roopak Muzumdar, Bibhuti Mukherjee, Manik Dutt, Jairaj, Geeta Dey, Asha Sharma, Raj Rani, Kumud Bole, Madhu Gaur, Tapti Bannerjee, Polin Chatterjee, Bharati Devi, Sumita Vishwas, Seema, and others. Anand Marathe had a special appearance in this movie. All songs for this movie were written by Kavi Pradeep and music was composed by Neeta Sen. The singers for this movie included Usha Mangeshkar, Aarti Mukherjee, Anuradha, Bhupinder Singh, and Gautam. Singers Asha Bhonsle and Mahendra Kapoor were the singers for the three additional songs added to the 1980 version.
As mentioned above today’s song is in the voice of Usha Mangeshkar. Lyrics are by Kavi Pradeep and music is composed by Neeta Sen. Let us listen and enjoy this wonderful song now.
