Kamsune/Unsune songs of Asha Bhosle – 43

“Aao Yaaron Gao” by Asha Bhosle does not fit under the Kamsune/Ansune song category, but a dear friend and co-contributor Raja Swaminathan jee indicated that these two gems from the movie “Hawas” (1974) were not posted, I took a decision on including both of them (song # 43 & 44) under this category.

‘Hawas’ is directed by Sawan Kumar for Mercury Productions. He was also the producer, storywriter and the lyricist of this movie. The star cast includes Anil Dhawan, Neetu Singh, Bindu, Vidya Sinha, Shiv Kumar, Fariyal, Pradeep Kumar, Randhawa and Mehmood. Supported by Pichoo Kapoor, Ashok Khanna, Randhir, Asit Sen, Shera, Basant, Neelam, Nelu, Sharmilee, Jugnu, and Coca-cola. Rekha and Vinod Mehra made friendly appearance in this movie.

This movie was passed by Censor Board with ‘restricted viewing’ certificate, meaning children and teenagers below 18 years of age were not allowed to see the movie.

The film revolves around love, betrayal, lust, and the consequences of greed and moral corruption. It was one of the early films to openly address themes of extramarital affairs and sensuality in mainstream Hindi cinema, which made it controversial at its time of release.

The Story of the movie is:

Rakesh (Anil Dhawan) is a young, innocent man who falls in love with the beautiful Kamini (Neetu Singh). Their relationship is pure and blossoming, and they dream of a happy future together. However, their lives take a dramatic turn when Kamini is forced into marriage with a much older and wealthy man, Ashok Saxena (Pradeep Kumar).

Though outwardly respectable, Ashok is neglectful of his wife and emotionally distant. This leaves Kamini vulnerable, and soon she comes under the influence of Rekha (Bindu), a glamorous and morally corrupt woman who thrives on manipulating others. Rekha’s world is filled with desire, wealth, and deceit — she symbolizes “hawas” (lust) and materialistic temptation.

Kamini is gradually pulled into this toxic circle of greed and passion. Rekha exploits her, encouraging her to seek happiness outside her marriage, leading to scandalous complications. Rakesh, still in love with Kamini, finds himself trapped in the web of deceit and desire.

The film builds toward a tense climax, where lust-driven actions result in tragedy, betrayal, and destruction of relationships. In the end, Hawas serves as a cautionary tale: blind indulgence in desire and betrayal of trust only lead to ruin and sorrow.

The song comes as a club / party number, where characters are enjoying themselves with drinks, dance, and carefree indulgence. It’s set in a social gathering filled with laughter, liquor, and a hint of debauchery — very much in tune with the central theme of Hawas (lust).

It has a lively, rhythmic, and boisterous feel, with an orchestration designed to mimic the cheerfulness of a bar or a party.

“Aao Yaaron Gaao” is sung by Asha Bhosle, written by Sawan Kumar and composed by Usha Khanna. The song is lip synced by the ever beautiful, Rekha Ganesan, who makes a friendly appearance.

Three of the five songs have been covered already in this blog. This is the fourth song to join them.
