Tum Kabhi Saamne Aa Jaao To Poochhoon Tumse – Pankaj Udhaas – Kaamnaa 1972 – is written by Naqsh Lyallpuri and composed by Usha Khanna.
According to our Avinash ji, who introduced a song from this movie earlier, this film is directed by K Chatterjee for I.M.K. Films, Bombay. The star cast as listed in Geet Kosh includes Suma, Dinesh Rai, Sajan, Sonal, Darpan, Shambhu Mukherjee, Kailash Sharma, Gopal Bhatnagar, Ranjana, Usha, Sarita Devi, Preetam, Prem Roop, Samajeet, Prakash, Sudhanshu, Anil, Shyam, Manik, Sadanand, Udayveer, Prem, Mirchandani, BK Mukherjee, Sudhir, Satish, Namdev, Awasthi, Krishna, Satyadeep, and others. Anupama had a guest appearance in this movie
This is the first playback song recorded by Pankaj Udhas. The story of him getting selected to sing the song is quite interesting. I just read it in TOI. It seems, while Pankaj Udhas was still in college he used to sometimes accompany his elder brother Manhar Udhas for song sittings, rehearsals and recordings.
Once during such a visit, Manhar introduced Pankaj to Usha Khanna and said that he sings well. Usha Khanna asked him to sing a few lines and was impressed with him.
After some months an opportunity arose when Usha Khanna was looking for a new singer to sing a song and remembered Pankaj Udhas.
She called Manhar and asked him to convey the message to Pankaj. Manhar was busy so he sent his other brother Nirmal Udhas to Pankaj’s college and take him to meet Usha Khanna. That’s how Pankaj sang this song as his first playback song.
