‘Shree Ram Bharat Milan-1965’, a mythological movie was directed by Manibhai Vyas for R.M. Art Productions, Bombay. It was produced by Ratan and Mohan and presented by Pt Madhur and S.P. Mangal. As mentioned by me in my earlier posts for this movie’s songs, this movie covers the story of Ramayana starting from Seeta Swayamwar, Kaikeyi seeking the throne for her son Bharat, and vanvaas to Shree Raam in lieu of the two boons that Raja Dashrath had promised her earlier, Bharat not accepting the throne and instead carrying Raam’s paadukaa and worshipping it, and finally Raja Raam’s coming back to Ayodhya after fourteen years of vanvaas.
Prithviraj Kapoor played Raja Dashrath, Nirupa Roy played Kaikeyi, Sulochana was Kaushalya, Anita Guha was Seeta, actor Mahipal was Raam’, and actor Rajkumar (from south?) was Bharat. They were supported by the other cast members viz Saraswati, Balakram, Bhuvna, B.M. Vyas, Sunanda, Niranjan Sharma, Padma Rani, Arvind, Vanmala, Joirabhai, Anand Tiwari, C.N. Kapoor, Shekhar Purohit and others.
Story of this movie was written by Pt Narottam Vyas, and screenplay was written by Vishwanath Pande. Pt Madhur and C.K. Mast wrote the dialogues of this movie. Editing of this movie was done by P.S. Wagle. This movie has six songs written by Kavi Pradeep and composed by Pandit Shivram. The singers for this movie are Asha Bhonsle, Kamal Barot, Mohd Rafi, and Usha Mangeshkar. So far, four songs from this movie have been covered on this blog.
Today I am presenting the fifth song from this movie which is in the voice of Mohd Rafi. The song is picturised on actor Rajkumar (I guess) who plays Bharat in this movie. Prabhu Shree Raam has already left for ‘vanvaas’ along with Seetaa Maiyya and brother Lakshman. In Ayodhya Raja Dashrath could not bear this grief further and declares that he will be going to bring Raam back to Ayodhya. However, since he is already grief stricken and his health is not allowing him to bear this shock of Raam’s going to ‘vanvaas’ he dies. All the people in the palace and in Ayodhya are heartbroken. It is in these circumstances that Prince Bharat and Shatrughan arrive in Ayodhya and when they reach the palace they come to know everything that happened in their absence. Bharat then rejects Kaikeyi’s proposal to accept the crown to rule Ayodhya. Shatrughan throws Manthara out of the palace. Bharat declares that he will go in search of Prabhu Shree Raam and request him, Seetaa Maiyyaa and brother Lakshman to return back to Ayodhya. In the picturisation of this song, Bharat (actor Rajkumar), Kaushalya (Sulochana), Kaikeyi (Nirupa Roy) and many others (as people of Ayodhya) can be seen.
Kavi Pradeep has penned excellent heart touching lyrics for this song. Rafi Saab has done an remarkable job in expressing the feelings of Bharat that he is going through under such difficult circumstances. Music is composed by Shivram.
Let us listen to this song now.
