“Sangdil” (1967), unlike “Sangdil”(1952) is a less known movie. It was directed by Dharam Kumar for Alamdeep Productions, Bombay.According to HFGK, this B grade movie had Dara Singh, Ameeta, Manohar Deepak, Anwar Hussain, Indira, Satish, Surendra, Shammi, Ramlal,Dilip Dutt, Johny Whisky, K D Katkar, Pal Sharmja, Saudagar Singh, Shahid Bijnori, Bhagwan in it.
“Sangdil”(1967) had five songs in it that have been forgotten with time. But these songs are forgotten gems.
Two songs from “Sangdil”(1967) has been covered in the blog.
Here is the third song from “Sangdil”(1967) to appear in the blog. This song is a female drunkard song, which I guess is picturised on Madhumati. I request our knowledgeable readers to help identify her. Picturisation also shows Anwar Hussain and others.
It appears that Madhumati had a major role in this movie. She in fact figured in as many as three songs of the movie whereas the leading lady Ameeta figured in just one song. Somehow HFGK failed to mention the name of Madhumati in the list of artists of this movie.
The movie made its debut in the blog in 2013 and the second song was covered in 2020. After a gap of another five years, here is the third song from “Sangdil”(1967) to appear in the blog.
This song is sung by Asha Bhonsle. Naqsh Llayalpuri is the lyricist. Music is composed by G S Kohli.
This movie “Sangdil”(1967) may have been forgotten alongwith its songs, but what songs they are. While preparing for this post, I located all the three missing songs. They were so good that I decided to hold two of these songs for special occasions and so I have used this female drunkard song, which is nice on its own merit but was a “normal” song in comparison to the two songs that I have held back.
