This nice song is sung by Mohd. Rafi, written by Omkar Varma and composed by Sonik Omi.
The first song of this movie was posted by our Mr. Avinash Ji in June this year.
From the above post we also get to know that ‘Playboy -1975’ is also known as ‘Rangeelaa Mastaanaa’. It was directed by T. Janakiram for ‘Mahesh Movie International, Madras’. It had Roopesh Kumar, Ritu Kamal, Mohan Choti, Fariyal, Hiralal and a host of other artists.
The story according to IMDB is:
Roopesh, a millionaire’s son turned playboy, squanders away his father’s wealth on wine, women, and gambling in far off Malaysia and Singapore.
Roopesh learns his parents have been killed in a plane crash and hurries home only to find that his father’s will states that, in order to inherit the family property, Roopesh must settle down and marry an Indian girl, and so he takes on a marriage of convenience with Geeta, the estate manager’s daughter.
When Roopesh is summoned back to the far east, due to a blackmail scheme against him, Geeta sends her friend Shital to keep an eye on him.
But Shital plays on Roopesh’s weakness for women and makes him fall for her. Unbeknownst to him, Shital is working hand in hand with those who are blackmailing him.
What happens next will be known only when we watch the movie.
I want to take this opportunity to write a few words about actor Roopesh Kumar aka Abbas Farashahi.
Roopesh Kumar was an Indian film actor and occasional producer best known for his work in Hindi cinema during the 1960 – 1980s. He was especially recognised for playing villainous, comedic, or character roles rather than leads, and he appeared in several major hits of his era.
His real name was Abbas Farashahi. He was born on 16th July 1946 and died at a very young age of 48 on 29th January 1995 reportedly due to a heart attack. His family owned a Irani bakery & restaurant in Pune, but he chose to pursue acting as his career.
He was quite comfortable playing a comic villain, sidekick, or henchman and was known for an expressive face and distinctive screen presence.
Some of his well-known appearances include: Seeta Aur Geeta (1972) – Played Ranjeet, one of the antagonists; this is one of his most recognisable performances as well as Andaz (1971), Naseeb (1981), The Burning Train (1980), Dharmatma (1975), etc
He frequently appeared in films directed by Manmohan Desai and acted alongside stars such as Dharmendra, Hema Malini, Feroz Khan, and Amitabh Bachchan.
Though rarely a lead actor, Roopesh Kumar became a familiar face because of his versatility—able to switch between slapstick humour and menacing villainy.
He was part of the “character actor” ecosystem that defined the texture of classic 1970s–80s Bollywood cinema. He also produced films later in his career, though without major commercial impact.
Roopesh Kumar is remembered today as part of the strong supporting-actor tradition of Bollywood’s golden era. Fans of classic Hindi cinema often recall him for his energetic comic timing, over-the-top villain roles, and his contribution to several cult films of the 1970s.
I’m unable to locate the video of this song, so here’s the audio link.
