Kamsune/Unsune songs of Asha Bhosle – 75

“Aayi Nainon Mein Kajra Daal Ke” from “Thakur Jarnail Singh” (1966), is written by Asad Bhopali and composed by Ganesh.

Three songs out of six have already been posted here. This one is the fourth song.

This movie was directed by Mohd Hussain for producer Ratan Mohan under the banner R M Art Production.

The star cast was Dara Singh, Helen, Sheikh Mukhtar, Jayant, Indrani Mukherjee, Indira Bansal, Shyam Kumar, Madan Puri, Sunder, Tun Tun, Madhumati, Bela Bose, etc

The music director was Ganesh and the lyricist was Asad Bhopali. The songs were primarily sung by Asha Bhosle, Lata Mangeshkar, Usha Mangeshkar, etc

The Story of Thakur Jarnail Singh (1966) is as follows:

The film begins with Thakur Pratap Singh, a cruel and arrogant man. In a fit of callousness, he murders the young son of his loyal servant, Mangu by pushing the boy’s head against a stone pillar.

Driven by grief and a thirst for justice that the law won’t provide, Mangu decides to take revenge on the Thakur by striking at what he holds most dear: his son.

Mangu abducts the Thakur’s son and raises him as his own, molding him into a fearsome outlaw and lawbreaker named Jernail Singh.

Jernail Singh becomes a “furious dacoit” who lives outside the law, completely unaware of his true parentage.

The conflict deepens when Jernail Singh’s real brother becomes a police officer and is assigned the difficult task of hunting down and eliminating the notorious dacoit.

Amidst his life as an outlaw, Jernail falls in love with Bina, the sweet daughter of the Superintendent of Police. This relationship prompts him to try and change his life and relocate to an unknown area.

However, another woman, Rajeshwari, who is jealous because she loves Jernail, betrays his new location to the police. This leads to a massive police raid and a dramatic confrontation where the two estranged brothers—the dacoit and the police officer—come face-to-face.

The film then leads to an intense climax concerning the fate of Jernail Singh and the revelation of his true identity.

I have seen this movie a couple of times during my growing up years.

The song is sung by Asha Bhosle, written by Asad Bhopali and composed by Ganesh.

The actress lip syncing and dancing in the mujra is Indira Billi. We also see Shaikh Mukhtar.
