Today’s Kavi Pradeep song is from the movie ‘Dashehraa-1956’.
‘Dashehraa-1956’, a mythological/ devotional movie was directed by Chaturbhuj Doshi for ‘Navkala Niketan, Bombay’. Ramesh Vyas was the producer of this movie. This movie was passed by the censor board on 25.02.1956. The cast of this movie included Shahu Modak, Nirupa Roy, Roop Kumar, Gope, Gajanan Jagirdar, S.N. Tripathi, Surendra, Yashodhara Katju, Kumkum, Jagdish Kanwal, Kamal, Heera Sawant, Rooplakshami, Suryakant, Narbada Shankar, Mohan Choti, Madhav Kale, Bela Sorkar, Jaya Rao, Tiwari and others. Rajan Haksar, Manorama, and Ramesh Thakur had a guest appearance in this movie.
“Dashehraa” has eleven songs. Ten of these songs were penned by Kavi Pradeep and and one song by Saraswati Kumar Deepak. N Datta was the music directors. Mohd Rafi, Lata Mangeshkar, Kavi Pradeep, Shamshad Begam and Asha Bhonsle were the playback singers in this movie. Lata Mangeshkar, Kavi Pradeep, and Shamshad Begam had one solo song each in this movie. Mohd Rafi’s voice was used in three songs and Asha Bhonsle sang five songs.
Six songs from the movie have been covered in the past. The song being covered here, a “remonstrating with the Almighty” song, is the first Asha Bhonsle song from this movie being covered in the blog. The remaining songs ( one of them being a Multiple version song)too have the voice of Asha Bhonsle in them.
