#the Decade of Sixties – 1961 – 1970 #
————————————————————————
Today’s song in this post is from the 1964 movie ‘Bhakt Dhruv Kumar’. Today I am presenting the third song from this movie. Though I had not got to listen to the songs from this movie earlier, but few months back I had shared a song from this movie which I liked very much. This song is another wonderful song and I wonder why it was not posted earlier on this blog.
This movie ‘Bhakt Dhruv Kumar’ had made its debut on the blog on 08.03.2017. At that time this movie was considered to be an obscure movie and its songs were not readily available. Here is what our Editor Shree Atul jee had mentioned while introducing this movie on the blog with its first song then.
“Bhakt Dhruv Kumar”(1964) was directed by Dhirubhai Desai for Allies Pictures, Bombay. This mythological movie had Nirupa Roy, Shahu Modak, Babloo, Indira, Niranjan Sharma, Suryakant Shukla, Laxmikant Bagla, Bhoj Kumar, Darshan, Dalda, Champaklala, Indumati, Jugnu, Munna, sundar etc in it.
The movie had nine songs in it. Here is the first song from “Bhakt Dhruv Kumar” (1964) to appear in the blog. The song is sung by Manna Dey. Avinash Vyas is the music director. HFGK mentions Madan as lyricist, but also mentions Avinash Vyas and Dhirubhai Desai as lyricists of background songs. The lyricist of this particular song is not specified in HFGK.
This is a “remonstrating with the Almighty” genre of song where a devotee is hard pressed to find the Almighty. We in this blog search for obscure songs and movie with just as fervour as displayed by mythological bhakts while searching for the almighty. My search for elusive movies of 1964 has finally yielded this song from “Bhakt Dhruv Kumar” (1964) which is among the 15 odd obscure movies of 1964 that are proving elusive.
Today’s song is in the voice of Suman Kalyanpur again. Lyricist is mentioned in Geet Kosh as Madan. Music is composed by Avinash Vyas. Only audio of this today’s song is available. It is a devotional song requesting God to appear and give ‘darshan’ to his devotees. I guess that on screen it is Bhakta Dhruv singing this song.

Lyrics
darshan deejo hari
darshan deejo re
tarsat hain nis din nainaa
darshan deejo re
darshan deejo hari
surya chandra deepak tere
deep kyaa jalaaoon main ae
surya chandra deepak tere
deep kyaa jalaaoon main ae
duniyaa ko tum khilaao
tumhen kyaa khilaaoon main
saanson mein aas de ke
naa niraash keejo re ae
tarsat hain nis din nainaa
darshan deejo re
darshan deejo hari
darshan deejo re ae
duniyaa banaa ke prabhu
tum kahaan chal diye ae
duniyaa banaa ke prabhu
tum kahaan chal diye ae
khilaunon se apne khilaadee
ye kaisaa chhal kiye
tere binaa rang mero
laage pheeko pheeko re ae
tarsat hain nis din nainaa aa
darshan deejo re
darshan deejo hari
darshan deejo re ae
ankhiyaan aakaash dekhen
ankhiyaan paataal dekhen
ankhiyaan aakaash dekhen
ankhiyaan paataal dekhen
tu hai paas phir bhee bhagwan
ankhiyaan tujhko naa dekhen
aisee ankhiyaan ko prabhu jee
waapas le leejo re ae
tarsat hain nis din nainaa
darshan deejo re
