“Gaai Aur Gori”(1973) was produced by M.M.A.Chinnappa Devar and directed by M.A.Thirumugam for Dhandayuthapani films, Madras. The movie had Shatrughan Sinha, Jaya Bhaduri, Bindu, Manmohan, Sulochana, Mohan Choti, Mona, Baby Sumati, Krishnakant(in Guest appearance), Devar, Swaraj, Yunus Ali, Sarita Devi, Darshan, Viju, Pande, Ramlal, Narmada Shankar, Munni, Radhika, Halam, Vijaylakshami, Natarajan, Joshi, G.Krishnan, Balbir Singh, Udaylakshami, Jalauddin, Siddaramaiah, Ramesh, Naral Ganpat Rao, Darshan, Pratibha, Prem Kumar, Lalita etc in it.
This movie was originally made in Tamil as ‘Gomatha Engal Kulamatha’. After its success, the producer decided to remake it in Hindi with Hindi film industry actors. Shatrughan Sinha and Jaya Bhaduri, fresh pass outs from Pune’s Film Institute were signed up for the lead roles.
