In this post I am presenting a Kavi Pradeep song from the movie ‘Veer Bajrang-1966’.
So far three songs from this movie have been posted on this blog. The first song from this movie was posted on the blog on 08.01.2016. It was presented by our Respected Shri Sudhir ji and the song was ‘meri aankhadiyon mein hai jo’. This film and its songs was considered as lost. However Sudhir ji, after lot of painstaking efforts got the above song and it was posted on the blog. He has described the interesting tale of discovering this song in the abovementioned post. The second song from this movie was presented by me on 25.02.2023. This song was ‘tan ki nagaree man kaa mandir’ in voice of Usha Timothi. Later the third song from the movie was posted on 24.05.2025 which again was presented by me under this series of Kavi Pradeep songs. This song is sung by Mahendra Kapoor and it is ‘pathhar pathhar par likh do re prabhu jee kaa naam’.
This movie “Veer Bajrang-1966” was directed by Manibhai Vyas for ‘People Pictures’. It had Jayshree Gadkar, S.N. Tripathi, Saudagar Singh, Indira Bansal, Babu Raje, Kiran Gunjal, Vishv Mehra, Shri Bhagwan, Sushma, Poonam Kapoor, Jagdish Kamal, Hari Shukla, Shyam, Karnail Singh, Pal, Kabootar, Dinesh, Ajit Soni, Ramesh, Feroz Kapoor, Pushpa, Meena, Zeenat, Sohanlal, Jeevankala, Baby Yamini Desai, Master Ratan and others. Geet Kosh Vol-IV (1961-1970) lists seven songs for this movie which are all written by Kavi Pradeep. Music is composed by Shivram. The list of singers includes Asha Bhonsle, Mahendra Kapoor, Usha Timothi and Shivram himself as playback singers for this movie.
Today’s song is the fourth song from this movie to be posted here. It is in the voice of Asha Bhonsle. Only audio of this song is available. Lyrics are by Kavi Pradeep and music is composed by Shivram. I would request knowledgeable readers to throw more light on this movie and its songs.
