#the Decade of Sixties – 1961 – 1970 #

I had mentioned it in my earlier posts that many songs which unavailable on the internet in the past have become available in recent years. We sincerely hope that this trend continues keep. That gives us opportunities to bring all those gems of the yesteryears here on the blog.
Take for instance the movie ‘Veer Bajrang-1966’.
The first song from this movie was posted on the blog on 08.01.2016. It was presented by our Respected Shri Sudhir ji and the song was ‘meri aankhadiyon mein hai jo’. This film from the ‘sixties’ was till then considered as ‘lost’ and its songs were also considered as unavailable. However Sudhir ji, after lot of efforts got the above song and it was posted on the blog. I would request interested readers to read this article for the interesting story behind the posting of this ‘first song’ from ‘Veer Bajrang’ on the blog.
(During the search for other songs from this movie I noticed that one more song from this movie has been uploaded by Sudhir ji which, I guess, must have been waiting for his already ‘drafted but incomplete’ write-up planned for posting in future).
Today, another song from the movie is being presented as the second song to be posted on the blog.
“Veer Bajrang-1966” was directed by Manibhai Vyas for ‘People Pictures’. It had Jayshree Gadkar, S.N. Tripathi, Saudagar Singh, Indira Bansal, Babu Raje, Kiran Gunjal, Vishv Mehra, Shri Bhagwan, Sushma, Poonam Kapoor, Jagdish Kamal, Hari Shukla, Shyam, Karnail Singh, Pal, Kabootar, Dinesh, Ajit Soni, Ramesh, Feroz Kapoor, Pushpa, Meena, Zeenat, Sohanlal, Jeevankala, Baby Yamini Desai, Master Ratan and others.
As mentioned in HFGK Vol-IV (1961-1970) this movie has seven songs written by Kavi Pradeep and their music was composed by Shivram.
The list of singers includes Asha Bhonsle, Mahendra Kapoor, Usha Timothi and Shivram himself as playback singers for this movie.
Today’s song is sung by Usha Timothi. HFGK mentions thestarting lines of this song as ‘param prataapi apne prabhu ka …’ and then ‘mere liye saari duniya paraayee’…
However in the audio link available we have the song starting with ‘tan ki nagari, man ka mandir’…
I would request knowledgeable readers to throw more light on this movie and its songs.
