Today I am presenting a rare and lesser heard duet sung by Rafi Saab and Asha Bhonsle. That adds one more to their tally on this blog. I do not remember to have listened to this song earlier, but it is nice hummable song to listen to.
This song is from the un-released/shelved movie titled as ‘Shehar Se Door’. Sources mention that the records for this movie were released in the year 1972, but the movie was never released.
‘Shehar Se Door’ or ‘Shahar Se Door’ was directed by Chaman Nille for ‘Maya Deep International, Bombay’. It had Subhash Ghai, Neena, Heena Kausar, Roopesh Kumar, Nadira, Johny Walker, Raj Mehra, Krishan Dhawan, Anita Guha, V. Gopal, Jankidas, Uma Dhawan, Uma Khosla, Jerry, Monto, Satya Devi, Madhu Kapoor, Tarun Bose and others. Geet Kosh Vol-V (1971-1980) lists five songs for this movie written by Verma Malik. Music for this movie was composed by Sonik-Omi. Manna Dey, Mohd Rafi, Minoo Puroshottam, and Asha Bhonsle were the playback singers for this movie.
Today’s song is the second song from the movie ‘Shehar Se Door (UR) 1972’ on the blog. One movie with the same title but spelled as ‘Shahar Se Door-1946’ is already present on the blog. As mentioned above today’s song is a Duet song in the voices of Mohd Rafi and Asha Bhonsle.
