I have heard this song “Nazar laagi raaja tore bangley par” several times, and from the voice I knew that it was a song sung by Asha Bhonsle. And I was also vaguely aware that the music of this song was composed by S D Burman. That is all I knew about this song.

Listening to the songs of this movie, one can see why. The songs of this movie has cast a magical spell over its listeners right from the time they became available some 45 years ago, and that magic spell continues even today, even across generations.
