The film was made by Rajkamal kala Mandir, Bombay and V Shantaram had directed it for his own banner. The story, dialogues, Screenplay and Lyrics were by Dewan Sharar. Made by Prabhat Film company, Poona, it was directed by a person who wrote his name in the most unconventional way – K.Narayan Kale. His actual name was Keshav Narayan Kale. Instead of the usual custom like Keshav N. Kale, he hid his own name and gave prominence to his father’s name ! This radical journalist’s life was full of ” in and out”of the film industry !

In my last few years of activity in the arena of old films, I have collected many books and have received many books as ‘Gifts’ from the authors. Among these, there are many autobios, including the autobio of C Ramchandra, music director of today’s film Sipahiya-1949.

The film was produced by the famous writer of Urdu, Ismat Chugtai (21-8-1915 to 24-10-1991). She was the wife of film director Shahid Lateef (11-6-1913 to 16-4-1967). His famous films were Naya Sansar-41, Jhoola-41, Anjaan-41, Ziddi-48, Arzoo-50, Fareb-53, Darwaza-54, Sone ki chidiya-58 and Baharen phir bhi aayengi-66. This pair of story writer, screenplay writer and producer Ismat Chugtai and director Shahid Lateef worked in many films, including today’s film Darwaza-1954. The banner was Film India Corporation, Bombay. Music for this film was by Nashaad.
